Testing out the composition for background elements.

Simulating the flag in Cinema 4D for use in NukeX.

The separate elements were color corrected first using f_matchgrade to better integrate them before a final overall grade was applied.

Finished background panorama plate with f_defocus lens blur and flares added to play tricks on the mind.

2D tracking was used along with a few 3D camera solves to help sell the shot. Because we had no green screen to help with the roto, most of our masks had to be manually tracked in and hand animated to keep them in place.

Separate detail mattes provide variable transparencies and moving elements.

A pre-flare glow and edge blur helped blend the background plate into our foreground.
